Description
Conceived as a study in mass, void, rhythm and interruption, this monumental wall sculpture expands the material language of ÉTER into an architectural scale.
A sequence of elemental geometries — circles, planes, arcs and projecting volumes — is assembled into a continuous composition that shifts between solidity and absence. Forms overlap, separate and extend from the wall, allowing light and shadow to become active elements of the work. As illumination changes throughout the day, the composition continuously reveals new depths, intersections and relationships.
The primary volumes are formed in ÉTER’s signature soft beige clay, retaining a tactile, mineral surface that celebrates the subtle irregularities inherent to the material. Against this earthen mass, sections of translucent ecological resin introduce moments of lightness and suspension. The resin captures and transmits light through the composition, creating a deliberate tension between opacity and translucency, weight and immateriality.
Rather than functioning as an applied decorative object, the work exists at the threshold between sculpture and architecture. At lengths ranging from approximately 2.5 to 3.8 meters, each mural establishes a physical relationship with the surrounding space, transforming the wall itself into part of the composition.
Rooted in ÉTER’s exploration of elemental form, material honesty and the dialogue between permanence and ephemerality, the series reduces architecture to its most essential gestures: matter, proportion, light and shadow.
